  • Peter Spier book - 3 verses with story & pics to help with words
  • Reallygoodstuff.com - history sheets, flamboyant flags with younger elem, regular flags with words written on, blank ones take their test on
  • Dialogue or story of the night it was written - history of when he wrote it that night
  • Phrase strips to put in order
  • Fill-in-the blank
  • Sing for athletic events & at concerts
  • Francis Scott Key - "dress-up" come in & talk about it
  • Musical Mysteries - 3/4 pages for SSB
  • Music K-8 word search
  • Crossword - every word is in the song
  • McCool - made cupcakes for each student then read a brief history over the intercom & then choir sang it

JH/HS Vocal:
  • JH - unison, strive for 2 pt
  • SH - 3 pt SSA arrangement (Angie has)

JH/HS Instrumental:
  • Perform various arrangements of the SSB. Record and have students evaluate different arrangements.
  • Have students find five different performances of the SSB on youtube or other video sites.
  • Music Expression/Interpretation:
    • Phrasing
    • Tempo
    • Articulations
